Social Media Notifications
Description
User Guide
Automatically let your community know when a creator goes live, publishes a video, when an RSS feed updates or when a good deal shows up. A module configured entirely from the dashboard, with no commands to remember.
What it does
- Watches Twitch channels and announces every live stream.
- Watches YouTube channels and announces every new video.
- Watches TikTok accounts (new videos and live streams).
- Relays any RSS feed (blog, news site, forum…).
- Relays deals and free games (Epic, Steam, GOG, PlayStation, Xbox, DealLabs…).
- Composes the alert: intro message, role mentions, custom blocks (title, text, thumbnail, image) and closing message.
- Sends a test alert to your channel before going live.
Quick start (Admin)
- Open the dashboard, then Engagement & Community → Social Media.
- Pick the tab for the platform you want (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, RSS Feeds, Deals).
- Add your watched sources: for Twitch and YouTube, type at least two characters in the search
field and click the right result; for an RSS feed, paste the URL of the XML feed; for TikTok,
enter the handle in the
@handleformat. - Select the target Discord channel.
- Write the intro message and, if needed, select the roles to mention.
- Click Test the alert to see the real result in the channel, then Save.
Commands
This module has no Discord commands: everything is configured from the dashboard.
Settings from the dashboard
One tab per platform, each with its own settings:
| Setting | Detail |
|---|---|
| Watched sources | Live search on the platform (Twitch, YouTube) or manual entry (RSS, TikTok). |
| Target Discord channel | The channel where the bot will post the alerts. |
| Intro message | Text displayed above the alert. |
| Roles to mention | Several roles possible, @everyone included. |
| Closing message | Optional text sent below the alert. |
| Alert design (V2) | One or more containers, each made up of Text, Section (title + thumbnail) and Image blocks, which can be reordered. |
| Live preview | A faithful preview of the message as it will appear on Discord. |
Variables usable in the messages and in the blocks:
{account}, {url}, {title}, {thumbnail}, {avatar} — plus, for Deals only:
{source}, {price}, {platform}.
Deals tab, additional settings:
- Sources to enable with a single click, split into three families: PC & Launchers (Epic Games, Steam, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, EA App, Battle.net, Itch.io, DRM-Free), Consoles & Mobile (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, mobile, VR) and DealLabs (Hot, Free).
- DealLabs filter: a comma-separated list of keywords so you only keep the offers that interest you.
- Per-source channels: each enabled source can get its own channel; failing that, it uses the global channel.
Good to know
- The Save button only saves the tab currently displayed. If you configure Twitch and then YouTube, save each tab separately before switching platform.
- A platform stays inactive as long as it does not have at least one source AND a target channel. No alert is sent if either is missing, or if the bot cannot write in the chosen channel.
- Detection delay: Twitch, TikTok, RSS and Deals are checked roughly every 2 minutes. YouTube videos arrive through a direct notification from YouTube, so almost instantly.
- One alert per new item: the bot remembers the last content seen per source. For Twitch, the alert triggers on the offline → live transition, not on every check.
- Without a premium subscription, the default limit is one watched source per platform. A banner tells you as soon as the limit is reached, and adding more is refused.
- The Reddit tab is currently unavailable: no Reddit API key is configured on the bot's side. The page displays the corresponding message and hides the save button.
- YouTube is identified by the channel ID (the one starting with
UC…). Go through the search field: it records the correct ID on your behalf. A channel added by hand in another format will not receive the direct notifications. - TikTok exposes no public API for following a third-party creator: monitoring goes through a relay, so it may be slower or less reliable than the other platforms.
- Test alerts are prefixed with
[TEST]and really are sent to the configured channel: warn your members, or test in a private channel first. - An alert must contain at least one text or one block; a completely empty message is not sent.
